Remember – Honor – Love

I write this on the last day of September, 2021.  As I reflect over the important days from this month, I realize how full of emotions this month has been for me and for many others.

September 2nd my son turned 42.  I don’t believe that I have a son that age when I don’t feel 42 myself!   He has brought so much joy to my life.

This was also the day marking 32 months since my daughter passed away.

September 11th marked the 20th anniversary of “911”.  Of course, I can recall exactly where I was when I heard the news of the terror attacks in 2001.

September 15th my daughter and her husband would have celebrated 15 years of marriage. Such beautiful memories from their wedding day.

September 18th was the Maine Brain Aneurysm fundraising walk honoring our friend, Karolina Kurka; my daughter, Jessica’s best friend.   Karolina died from a sudden brain aneurysm 10 years ago.  Supporting this organization was a true passion of Jessica’s.  It was because of Karolina that Jessica’s brain tumor was discovered.

September 25th Hospice fundraiser “Twilight in the Park” honoring loved ones who have passed.  I purchased 4 candle luminaries to honor the 4 women in my life who passed away between June of 2018 and May of 2020 in Hospice or other comfort care:

My mother-in-law, Betty Gaudet.

My son-in- law’s mom, Judi Heath

My daughter, Jessica Heath

My sister-in-law, Pam Brown

Though there are plenty of reasons to be sad, my focus is on always remembering the life with joy, even sometimes through the tears.
