Life with Julie Brown

Perspective

Though I say I don't like change, I believe there is great deal of wisdom that comes from a change of scenery which can create a change of perspective.

Over the last three weeks, I have spent some time traveling. Some of it for pleasure and some not so joyful. All of the time away from home has opened my mind about life as it is right now at this point in the pandemic.

I have met some people with various backgrounds and interesting life stories. I have reconnected with friends and family I haven't seen for years. There were several particularly special days I will always treasure with a best friend on her own journey.

Traveling right now still requires a bit of new navigational skills around testing and mask wearing, though to be able to share time together, however briefly, has filled me with a sense of gratitude I wasn't aware was missing. Perhaps it brought my appreciation for life to a higher level knowing full well that "life really is short".
